Darlene Cates Personal Quotes

Darlene Cates Personal Quotes

I wish everyone that's kind of hiding away at home still could understand or could have the same experience that I did. Once I did the Sally show, all of a sudden I realized that if I went out and people stared at me, I wouldn't know if they were staring at me because I was fat or because they recognized me from being on TV. That empowered me.

I had to make a choice, I could stay where I was and be miserable, or I could take a risk and do something exciting. I talked with the author, Peter Hedges. There were some things in the book that I didn't like. We talked about those extensively and I trusted him because the character was based on somebody that meant something to him in his life. So I knew that it wouldn't be anything horrible. As we went along I was so proud of the way that the character was portrayed and so proud of the way that the children came around to see that this woman had these good qualities, and how much she really did care about her family. Meryl Streep Accents Dialogue

Meryl Streep is well known for her ability to imitate foreign and domestic accents, from Danish in Out of Africa (1985), to English in Plenty (also 1985) and The Iron Lady (2011), as well as Italian in The Bridges of Madison County (1995), to a Midwestern dialect in A Prairie Home Companion (2006). In A Cry in the Dark (1988) she colored Australian English with New Zealand tonalities, as most critics were impressed with Streep's performance and ability to master an Australian accent.

For her role in the film Sophie's Choice (1982), she took a language course in Polish for four months, so as to interpret a young Pole perfectly. In The Iron Lady, she reproduces the vocal style of Margaret Thatcher, both from her early days before she became Britain's Prime Minister, and later after she had taken elocution lessons to change both the pitch and pronunciation of her delivery. Despite the accolades accorded to her, Streep has responded to praise with the assertion that adopting accents is an element that she simply considers an obvious part of her task in creating characters. When asked whether accents help her get into character, she responded, "I'm always baffled by this question... How could I play that part and talk like me?" When questioned as to how she reproduces different accents, Streep replied, "I listen."

Bye Bye Jennifer Aniston Pregnant Rumour

By dazzling crowds at the 64th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in a tight-fitting black dress, Jennifer Aniston has put to bed rumours that she's expecting her first child. Earlier this month reports had suggested that the ex-Friends actress was six months pregnant by her boyfriend Justin Theroux and was apparently seen during a recent outing hiding her stomach under a wide coat

"She wouldn’t have wanted to make a big deal but she must be so excited. "If anyone ever asked if she was worried about running out of time, she’d reply, ‘I’m absolutely having kids there’s not one doubt in my mind’.” A source also told Look magazine.

With no sign of her supposed baby bump, however, Aniston quashed the allegations by stepping out last night (29th January) in short Dolce & Gabbana LBD. Jen attended the event held at the Grand Ballroom in Hollywood with Justin, as she was up for the Movies For Television and Mini-Series gong for Five - alongside Demi Moore and Alicia Keys.

With the 42-year old slamming accusations last October that she might be expecting after being snapped leaving a clinic with Theroux, Aniston has been dogged with pregnancy rumours for years.

Capucine Trivia, Rumor And Personal Quotes

http://www.movieactors.com/photos-stars/capucine-murder-she.jpeg

According to rumor, Capucine was remembered in the wills of William Holden (to the tune of $50,000) and Peter Sellers as well as that of 20th Century-Fox studio chief Darryl F. Zanuck.

She was a longtime friend of Audrey Hepburn, the two having met while modeling in Paris in the late 1940s. A manic-depressive, Capucine's life had on several occasions been saved by her friend (both women lived at the time in Switzerland) after repeated suicide attempts.

When she committed suicide in March 1990 at the age of 62, her obituary in the New York Times stated that her only known survivors were her three cats.

Died in Lausanne, Switzerland, after jumping from her eighth-story apartment.

Born Germain Lefebvre, she took the stage name "Capucine" during her modeling days. The name--pronounced "Kap-oo-seen"--is French for the Nasturtium flower.

Nickname to close friends was "Cap".

Had a two-year relationship with actor William Holden, who was married at the time.

She was a witness to the 1969 wedding of longtime friend Audrey Hepburn to Dr. Andrea Dotti in Lausanne, Switzerland, where she lived for many years until her death.

Considered one of the great beauties of Europe.

She was born in Saumur, France, the same small town on the Loire as one of her famous patrons from her modeling days, Coco Chanel.

At 21 she met her spouse on the set of the 1949 film Rendezvous in July (1949) (her first screen appearance) and married him the following year. The marriage lasted six months.

Her French bourgeois family wanted her to become a school teacher. When she balked at that, they suggested she work in a bank.

Was riding in a carriage in Paris when a commercial photographer noticed her. She soon became a top fashion model for Maggy Rouff, Christian Dior and Hubert de Givenchy.

On a certain Wednesday in 1956, she realized she was bored. Having never been to America, she flew there on Friday. She modeled in New York for a while, and one night at the Pavilion she met actor John Wayne and agent/producer Charles K. Feldman. Feldman signed her to a contract (she later moved in with him) and sent her to California to learn English. She made her English-speaking debut as Princess Carolyne in Song Without End (1960).

In 1952 she got a two-week job modeling clothes in fashion shows aboard a French cruise ship. She shared a cabin with a 17-year-old dancer working in the chorus of the ship's "nightclub"--Brigitte Bardot.

Remained a close friend of her Song Without End (1960) co-star Dirk Bogarde, and often visited him at his home in France.

Personal Quotes

"The camera has a love affair with her face." [Director George Cukor]

"Men spoil women in America. A woman needs to know that the man is her master." Capucine.

"Every time I get in front of a camera, I think of it as an attractive man I am meeting for the first time. I find him demanding and aloof - so I must do all in my power to interest him." Capucine.

Men look at me like I'm a suspicious-looking trunk, and they're customs agents.

Personal Quotes Of Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich Personal Quotes

I think that's one of the only reasons God created celebrities. To help those who can't help themselves.

I worked like hell {on The Fifth Element (1997)}. No band practice, no clubs, no pot, nothing.

"If this movie was made in America they would have had a guy and we would have been his harem or entourage. Big studios don't trust that women will bring in that kind of audience, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) was really an exception to the rule. Most of the time, if you make a big action film there has to be a big action guy in it. It's very European to trust a woman to play that kind of a role" [on Resident Evil (2002)].

"I'm a dribbler." [really meaning dabbler, English is not her first language, after all]

About Madonna: "Oh, my God! I used to ride my bicycle around for hours in the garage of our apartment building singing 'Material Girl'" (In Style magazine, Sept/2006).

[on Resident Evil (2002)] We've got really infantile mentalities on this movie. We're like: 'It's gross - cool! It's disgusting - print it!' You have to think like a fifteen -year-old. Wet dress. Zombies. Guns. Cool!".

Milla Jovovich was Brought Up by Single Mother

Milla Jovovich is an Ukrainian-born actress, supermodel, fashion designer, singer and public figure, who was on the cover of more than a hundred magazines, and starred
in such films as The Fifth Element (1997), Ultraviolet (2006), and the 'Resident Evil' franchise.

She was born Milica Natasha Jovovich on December 17, 1975, in Kiev, Ukraine, Soviet Union (now Kiev, Ukraine). Her Serbian father, Bogdan Jovovich, was a medical doctor in Kiev. There he met her mother Galina Jovovich, a Russian actress. At the age of 5, in 1981, Milla with her parents emigrated from the Soviet Union, moving first to London, UK, then to Sacramento, California, and eventually settled in Los Angeles. There her parents worked as house-cleaners for the household of director Brian De Palma. Her parents separated, and eventually divorced, because her father was arrested and spent several years in prison.

Young Milla Jovovich was brought up by her single mother in Los Angeles. In addition to her native Russian, she also speaks Serbian and English. However, in spite of her cosmopolitan background, Milla was ostracized by some of her classmates, as a kid who emigrated from the Soviet Union amidst the paranoia of the Cold War. Many emotional scars had affected her behavior, but she eventually emerged as a resilient, multi-talented, albeit rebellious and risk-taking girl. She was coached by her actress mother since her childhood, first at home, then studied music, ballet, and acting in Los Angeles. In 1994 she appeared on the cover of 'High Times' in the UK, at the age of 18.

She shot to international fame after she was spotted by the photographer Richard Avedon at the age of 11, and was featured in Revlon's "Most Unforgettable Women in the World" advertisements, and on the cover of the Italian fashion magazine 'Lei' which was her first cover shoot. She made her first professional model contract at the age of 12, and soon made it to the cover of 'The Face', 'Vogue', 'Cosmopolitan' and many other magazines. The total number of her magazine covers worldwide was over one hundred by 2004, and keeps counting. In 2004 she made $10.4 million, becoming the highest paid supermodel in the world.

Milla Jovovich was torn between two professions, before she eventually became one of the very few supermodels who also developed a steady and serious film career. In 1988, at age 12, she made her film debut credited as Milla in a supporting role in Two Moon Junction (1988) by writer/director Zalman King. During the 1980s and early 1990s, she played several supporting roles as a teenage actress in film and on television, then starred in Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991). In 1997 she co-starred opposite Bruce Willis in the sci-if blockbuster The Fifth Element (1997), then she starred as the title character of The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999). In the early 2000s, Milla had a few years of uncertainty in her acting career due to uneven quality of her films, as well as some hectic events in her private life. However, she managed to overcome her personal crisis. With the leading role as Alice in Resident Evil (2002) and its two sequels, she established herself as a film star, and her success in acting career eventually matched her success as a supermodel.

Outside of her acting and modeling professions, Milla Jovovich released several critically acclaimed musical recordings, making her debut as a singer, songwriter and musician with the 1994 release of 'The Divine Comedy'. She also gave several live performances with her band Plastic Has Memory and was featured on 'Hollywood Goes Wild'. Her vocal recordings appeared on soundtracks of several films. She has been writing music and lyrics to her song-demos, playing her guitar and sampling other sounds from her computer, and allowing free download and remix of her songs from her website.

For many years Milla Jovovich has been maintaining a healthier lifestyle, practicing yoga and meditation, trying to avoid junk food, and cooking for herself. Since she was a little girl, Milla has been writing a private diary, a habit she learned from her mother. She has been keeping a record of many good and bad facts of her life, her travels, her relationships, and all important ideas and events in her career, planning eventually to publish an autobiography. After dissolution of her two previous marriages, Milla Jovovich became engaged to film director Paul W.S. Anderson; their daughter, Ever Anderson, was born on November 3, 2007.

Personal Quotes
The first time I saw Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) was with an audience, and I was terrified. I can not watch either of the "Paranormal" films, alone. I tried once to watch Paranormal Activity (2007) alone because I had a different version of it - a new cut. And I said, "Oh, I want to see what they changed". And I put it in and got to the first knife scene and had to turn it off. I was like, "No, no, no, no, no. I can't do this".

My favorite scary movie is Candyman (1992). I love being scared, so [Halloween] is kind of the perfect time of year to have scary movie marathons.

In 2008 she signed with her agent Jayme Pervis of J Pervis Talent Agency. She finally felt that she had an agent that believed in her and saw her ethnic ambiguity as an advantage. Ziah booked steadily in commercials as well as roles in Lifetime's Army Wives & Drop Dead Diva. In 2009 she won the role of Sujatmi in the comedy Road Trip:Beer Pong, playing a Middle Eastern auto emergency telephone operator, opposite Danny Pudi. In 2010 Ziah won her largest role to date as Rusty Rodriguez in Footloose.

In her spare time, Ziah enjoys hiking, reading plays, and spending time with her family where there is never a dull moment.
